Expansive Italian menu at Sauce on the Creek
Sauce on the Creek has a brilliant solution to the dilemma of only ordering your favorite Italian dish whenever at the family pizzeria and Italian eatery in Avon — family-style portions.
Whether you’re craving the classic spaghetti and meatballs or best-selling rigatoni and sausage, or a made-to-order pizza or fried ravioli, Sauce on the Creek is where families and friends gather to socialize over quality food, custom cocktails and more.
“We’re welcoming to everyone, so it doesn’t really make a difference if you come in with small children, or if you’re looking to have more of a quiet dinner or a private party, we want to accommodate everyone,” said Ross Cohen, who runs the restaurant with his chef, Mike Irwin.
Both Cohen and Irwin have worked around the valley for years, and the two have found much enjoyment in managing the third of five Sauce franchises — each putting its unique spin on similar concepts.
With one of the largest patios in the valley — a great space for a private event — Cohen is excited to serve up some of his seasonal cocktails — and with over 250 bourbons and 200 bottles of wine, there’s something for everyone.

“Designing our cocktail list is something that really makes me happy and proud. And we do that seasonally, and I really have my foot on the gas with that, especially with all of our NA stuff, which is kind of on the up and up,” Cohen said.
The food is fit to fulfill any Italian cravings, and then some. The rigatoni and sausage is the No. 1 seller, followed by the brussels sprouts. All of the dough and sauce for the pizzas are made in-house with only the freshest ingredients — and there’s a gluten-free pizza crust option. Chicken parmesan, soups, salads and much more fill out the menu. The daily fish special is always fresh and fun.
“Huge range, lots of different options,” Cohen said matter-of-factly, “which is why we attract so many different types of people.”
Great for wedding receptions and rehearsals, corporate parties, family reunions and other reasons to gather, Sauce on the Creek also celebrates happy hour daily from 3 to 5 p.m. Featured eats include $10 small plates, discounts on pizzas as well as deals on glasses of wine, cocktails, beers and well drinks.
For those special occasions, Sauce on the Creek has Pappy Van Winkle, Wellers and other high-end bourbons behind the bar.
“We also have a kids-dedicated menu — and our kids menu actually has real food on it, not just mac ‘n’ cheese,” Cohen said.
He’s right, the kids menu is one to admire: spaghetti marinara, spaghetti and meatballs, fetuccini alfredo, rigatoni and sausage, chicken parmesan and salmon. And with family-style portions on the menu, everyone’s going home with a full belly and a happy heart from Sauce on the Creek.
